After 12th there a huge no. of choices which can be chosen.
And most of the Students are confused which branch to choose.
Many a times students are confused what is the difference between B.E. & B Tech.
I have tried to explain most of the branches in brief.
In first year all the branch students have to study the same topics.
From 2nd year every student will study in detail about its branch.

Production Engineering

This branch is mixed combination of Production & management.
It is mostly same as Mechanical Engineering.But it also includes marketing in last 2 semesters.
In this branch you will study about topics like casting, automation, joining processes, metal cutting & tool designing, production planning, material marketting and a few more......

Some core companies offering jobs for Production Engineers are:

Petroleum Engineering

If you are genuinely interested in organic Chemistry, this is the best branch for you.
It is very interesting to know petroleum engineering is one of the attractive and top paying jobs, but very less information is available about it.
Yet it is very difficult to work as a Petroleum Engineer as petroleum is generally found in isolated parts of the world.
As Petroleum is one of the thing that is the basic need of every human being and will always be, So petroleum Engineering will always be in demand.
Petroleum Engineer generally deals with extraction, production & study of oil products.
In this filed you will study about production & refining of petroleum products, Separation of oil water emulsion, polymer Synthesis, Environmental impact of petroleum products, reservoir simulation and a few more topics.
There are very few colleges in India which offer this course.

Metallurgical Engineering

If you are really very interested in Chemistry, this branch is for you.
In this branch student will learn about Physical & chemical Properties of different types of metals and how alloys can be formed from these metals to have the needed properties.
These alloys are mostly used in Car design, aircraft design, electronic devices which require a specific quality of metal.
In this branch you will study about casting, rolling, forging, refining and some other processes.
After this course there is a big scope of getting jobs in Abroad.
There are very few colleges offering Metallurgical Engineering in India.

This branch is evergreen.
Now a days everything is becoming computerized So, computer engineers are need everywhere.
If you have a different and innovative thinking this is the best field for you.
If you are interested in making Software, programming, algorithm, web technologies, databases, data structures, operating systems, microprocessor this is the best field for you.
But now a days there is a tough competition amongst the computer engineers as many students are going in this branch.
Recently Samsung hired an IITian with a package of 81.6 Lakh.

What is the difference between B.E. & BTech.

Many a times i have seen students are confused that what is the difference between B.E. and BTech.
Which is better and which has better Scope???
Actually there is no difference between B.E. and BTech. in terms of value and scope.
Now u might be thinking if there is no difference between both , then why are the names Different.

When India got independence, there were 2 types of Universities:
  • which offer only Engineering :- these institutes named BTech.
  • which offer Degrees in Science, Commerce,Arts,Education & also Engineering :- these institutes named as B.E. 
Now, when these colleges started new courses, they too called them BTech.
So, none of both is superior than another.
Both have same value & same scope.

Electronics Engineering

This branch has a great future.
We all have a cell phone or a computer or laptops.
Electronics Engineer make this kind of instruments.
The use of electronic gadgets is increase day by day and will never end.So, there will always be a great demand of electronics engineers
Most of the colleges offer this course.

In this branch you will study concepts like Semiconductor Devices, analog & digital Signal, Instrumentation, Telecommunication, elcetronics circuits, power circuits, logic design and a few more.....

What is the difference between Electrical and Electronics Engineering???
Electrical Engineering generally focuses on products that supply, generate & transmit Electricity.
focuses on electronic products that use that electricity.
eg. T.V.'s electronics i.e. chip work is handled by a electronic Engineering & power consumption is handled by a electrical Engineer.

Some people think that electrical engineering is advanced of an electrician, But its absolutely wrong.
You will study concepts such as Thermodynamics, electronics, microelectronics, instrumentation, power system, signal processing, electromagnetic system, electronic networks and power generation.
Most of the electrical circuits include resistor, capacitors, diodes, inductors transistors.
It has a good job opportunities.
Most of the colleges offer electrical engineering degree.

What does an electrical Engineer do??
Electrical Engineers focus on maintaining, designing & improving of electricity producing instruments.
He focuses on some devices such as motor, generators, transmitters etc.

What is the difference between Electrical and Electronics Engineering???

It is one of the oldest branch of engineering.
It has application in most of the fields like manufacturing plants, robots, air crafts, medical Devices,vehicles etc.
Mechanical Engineering is further sub divided in many parts such as:

  • Thermal Engineering
  • Automotive Engineering
It requires a core understanding of concepts like mechanics, electricity, kinematics, robotics,fluid mechanics, thermodynamics etc.
First and foremost you must be intrested in mechanical and machinery components.
You must be good at maths, physics and chemistry.
You should have logical reasoning and problem solving attitude.
There will always be a demand of skilled mechanical engineers in future.

It is considered as the modified branch of engineering which deals with construction development designing of aircrafts and spacecrafts.
It is the sub-part of Mechanical Engineering
It is further divided into 2 parts:
  • Aeronautical Engineering :- Aircraft's, in Earth's Atmosphere eg. Aeroplanes 
  • Astronautical Engineering :- Spacecrafts, out of Earths Atmosphere eg. Satellites, Rockets.
It requires a good understanding of basic fundamentals of Physics and Mathematics.

What after 12th Commerce????

Nowadays most of the students are worried about what to chose after 12th.
Once You have Completed 12th Commerce, You have many Career options.
You should chose a career which good pay with a decent living.
If you are interested in teaching, you can opt for B Com. , M Com. and become a Professor or a teacher.
If you want to rock the management and marketing world you can opt for MBA after B Com. or BBA.
While you are doing bachelors degree, you can also prepare for Exams such as UPSC,Bank Clerk,
